Step 1: Cleanser

skincare regime 20s,

Cleansing is the first step in your 20s skincare regime.

Use a gentle facial cleanser twice daily, once in the morning and once at night. This is an important step for removing dirt, oil, and impurities from your skin, making sure you reset your skin for the morning, and that your pores don’t get congested overnight.

Always choose a product that works best with your skin type, whether that's dry, oily, combination, or sensitive. This will optimise your skincare regime to give you the results you're looking for.

Micellar cleansing water is best for dry skin. A foaming cleanser, however, is better for oily and acne-prone skin, as it helps to eliminate excess oil.

Step 2: Toner

Following your cleanser, apply a toner to complete the cleansing process.

Toners help to balance your skin's pH levels and restore your complexion. This step also boosts the cleansing process by helping to remove any remaining dirt or makeup.

When choosing a toner for your routine, make sure to avoid harsh chemicals as this can aggravate your skin further. Instead, look for natural ingredients like witch hazel or rosewater to help soothe and hydrate your skin.

Step 3: Serums

Serums are not always necessary, but if your client is looking to target a specific skincare concern, natural serum formulas are great solution to incorporate into a 20s skincare regime.

Once your toner has dried, apply a serum and massage into your skin.

The serum you choose for your client should be tailored to their specific skin concern.

Whether you’re looking to reduce fine lines, brighten dull skin, create a more hydrated appearance or tackle acne-prone skin, serums deliver a concentrated amount of ingredients that help to nourish and rejuvenate the skin, and this is why it's effective at targeting specific skin concerns.

Many women in their 20s wish to target fine lines, so Retinol and Vitamin A serums are highly effective in promoting cell-turnover. For dull and uneven skin tones, the use of serums containing extracts such as green tea, licorice root, and grapefruit are highly effective.

You can use several different serum formulas at once, but make sure to consult the label of each product - some are best used in the morning, while others are more ideal for a night routine.

Step 4: Moisturiser

The final step in a regular skincare routine is moisturisation.

Apply a thin layer of moisturiser after cleansing, toning and serums to keep your skin hydrated and prevent dryness throughout the day.

Moisturisers are best applied twice a day, in the morning and at night. When choosing the right facial moisturiser for your client, look for a hydrating, natural product that helps to lock in moisture.

Step 5: Sunscreen

It prevents sun damage and premature skin aging; For 20-year-olds, sunscreen is the most important step in your skincare regime

While sunscreen should be worn every day, most clients are turned off by greasy, heavy formulas that congest the face.

We recommend using a specialty facial sunscreen product as your final skincare step. An SPF 50+ sunscreen and moisturiser combination cream is the perfect option for busy mornings; Replacing your moisturiser with a sunscreen alternative will save you time on your 20s skincare regime.

Step 6: Exfoliator

Use an exfoliating product once or twice a week after cleansing.

Exfoliating is a great way to give your skin a new glow each week. exfoliating cream helps to remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. However, exfoliators can be harsh on the skin, so we only recommend incorporating this product into your routine once or twice a week.

Look for an exfoliator that is gentle and suitable for your skin type. There are plenty of exfoliators that use natural ingredients as opposed to harsh chemicals, so encourage your client to go for these options instead. Avoid over-exfoliating, as this can lead to skin irritation and sensitivity.

Step 7: Face Masks

Skincare facemasks don’t need to be used every day, but if your client is needing an extra boost before a big event, these vitamin-rich products are ideal for an added glow.

Facemasks work by trapping moisture or infused ingredients into the skin. This creates a film that allows these ingredients to better penetrate your skin in a short amount of time.

Different facemasks cater to different skincare needs depending on specific ingredients and intended purposes.

Apply your facemask after cleansing, and leave it to dry for the recommended period of time before washing the product off with warm water.

Your 20s is a great time to start getting serious about skincare, but it doesn't need to be a complicated process. Basic skincare routines are the perfect place to start for women in their 20s.
