Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work as beauty therapists to provide a range of beauty therapy treatments and services, including lash and brow treatments, nail services, make-up, massage and waxing. They communicate with clients to recommend treatments and services and sell retail skin care and cosmetic products.
These individuals undertake work independently, with limited guidance from others, to perform routine and non-routine activities and solve non-routine problems. They apply and adapt technical skills and knowledge, and use judgment in the provision of beauty treatments and services. These individuals are responsible for their own outputs and provide limited guidance to others.
Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and spas.
Are there any prerequisites or entry requirements?
There are no formal pre-requisites or entry requirements for SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy, however Sechi Hair Academy requires that students obtain approval from a parent/guardian if the student is under 18 years old.
Students are also required to attend an entry interview as part of the enrolment process to confirm that they understand the course delivery arrangements and expectations and that the course is suited to their career aspirations.
What is the duration of the course?
The SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy runs for approximately twelve (12) months, and is held three (3) days a week. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students are also provided an additional day on Monday for catch up and free study.
All classes will commence at 9:15 AM and conclude at 3:45 PM, with a thirty (30) minute lunch break provided to all students at 12:15 PM.
All classes are compulsory as student attendance is vital to ensure students are taking part in classroom discussion and activities. If you are unable to attend class on the day, please notify your trainer at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the commencement of classes. Repeated absences may lead to deferment, and in severe cases, termination of your course.
